About me

Hi, I’m Jillian — a youth and community worker and English teacher from Ireland. For nearly ten years, I’ve been teaching English online and abroad while working with communities in Europe, Australia, and Asia.

I founded English in Many Ways as a social enterprise to make English learning creative, flexible, and meaningful. My goal is to help people gain confidence, unlock opportunities, and connect across cultures. English isn’t just grammar and exams — it’s about curiosity, creativity, and real-world connection.

Here, you’ll find one-to-one classes, group sessions, and flexible packages designed around you. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, an interview, a big presentation, or simply want to feel more confident in everyday conversation, there’s a pathway that suits your needs.

Teaching English has been part of my life since university, supporting me through travel and work across different countries. Over time, I realised that English teaching could be more than classes — it could be a way to connect people across cultures, oceans, and opportunities.

My background in Youth and Community Work and Social Sciences taught me to value learning that is person-led, playful, and empowering. From circus programmes in Ireland to EU youth networks, I’ve seen how creative, collaborative approaches transform confidence and connection.

English in Many Ways grew out of this experience. It’s not just about passing exams or checking boxes — it’s about curiosity, wellbeing, creativity, and building the confidence to use English as a tool for adventure, career, and connection.

This project is also deeply inspired by my love of the ocean, intercultural exchange, and community development. I want English learning to be accessible, affordable, and impactful, with a focus on women’s voices, diverse perspectives, and our shared global environment.
