Voluntary work
At English in Many Ways, we believe English learning should be accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford it. That’s why, for every four paid hours of teaching, we commit to providing one free hour of English support to individuals and communities who need it most.
This social enterprise model ensures that learners who have the resources to invest in their development are also directly supporting others — creating a cycle of care, inclusion, and opportunity.
Our focus is on women, diverse thinkers, and underrepresented groups who are often excluded from traditional language education due to cost or rigid teaching systems. By offering free and affordable lessons, we aim to build confidence, connections, and opportunities for women internationally, while also supporting neurodiverse learners with creative, flexible, and technology-driven approaches.
Why this matters:
In Ireland — the only native English-speaking country in the EU — we see a huge opportunity to connect globally and reimagine our tradition as the “land of Saints and Scholars.”
English is more than a skill; it’s a doorway to university access, career progression, travel, and intercultural exchange.
Our model challenges the profit-driven systems that exclude learners, offering instead a care-based, feminist approach that values people, creativity, and community impact.
Through this, we’re building a network of learners and teachers who share not only language but also culture, arts, environmental awareness, and social change. Every paid class contributes to a ripple effect of free support, empowering women and communities across borders and oceans.
